Community Service


In 1985 Ned was elected as deacon in the Assembly of God Church recently retiring from serving as treasurer for half of that time.  In 1988 he joined the Olin Volunteer Ambulance Service as an ambulance driver.  Ned is currently vice president of the group.  In 1992 he was elected to the Olin school board and served until 2007.  While a member of the board a 1.3 million dollar addition was added to the building including a new school library, weight and exercise room, community room and a public library.  Ned was heavily involved with formulating the 28E agreement between the school and public library.  During his 15 years of service, Ned also served on the negotiating teams as a school board representative. This included negotiating salaries and related issues with the certified and uncertified staff.
